Rustic elegance awaits you at the Silver River Adobe Inn Bed and Breakfast which was built in the traditional architecture of northern New Mexico and offers a view from each room of the San Juan River. Just up stream the Animas River joins the San Juan River and on the corner of our property is the confluence with the La Plata River, hence the local name of Totah, the meeting place of three rivers. The San Juan River holds 50% of New Mexico’s surface flowing water, rather a miracle for this high desert plateau. Many guests exclaim their delight seeing so much water after hiking and driving through this portion of the American Southwest, called Indian Country by the early Santa Fe Railroad. The Anasazi Ruins of Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Aztec Ruins and Mesa Verde bring tourists from all over the world to the Four Corners. The splendid geology left to us of Shiprock, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, and Canyon lands has been used time and again. Take home a taste of the beauty of our sun and geology.

The main building of the Silver River Adobe Inn is a contemporary example of the traditional architecture of Northern New Mexico, offering elements of luxury with the organic texture of exposed adobes and rough sawn timbers. This building rests on a sandstone cliff well above the flood zone of the rivers, nestled among the lush natural vegetation and bird-life characteristic of major rivers in this high desert region. About half of all New Mexico's surface flowing waters pass in front of our windows, from which one also experiences the long view of sunsets over the river and down the valley.

An eclectic library creates an intellectual backdrop for the "Salon" style breakfast conversations. Your hosts, David Beers and Diana Ohlson, are pleased to offer advice on travel routes, local events, places to visit and dining in the Four Corners.

Our B &B is blessed by the presence of foxes, beaver, coyote, eagles, blue herons, canadian geese, raccoons, deer and YOU! We live in a landscape blessed by desert light. Come to enjoy the play of colors on the mesas and desert floor and you will feel as though you are living in a Georgia O’Keefee painting. Reimagine the literacy characters of Oliver LaFarge’s “Laughing Boy” or Tony Hillerman’s detectives Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn.
